FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions

1.  Will it hurt?

Answer: Any new exercise may make you sore. Our goal is to provide the best possible service with the least discomfort possible.

2.  How long will it take?
How many times and how often will I have to come?

Answer: Your first visit will take 1 - 1 ½ hr.
Later visits will take from 20 minutes to 1 ½ hr., depending on your particular treatment regimen.

How many sessions you will need depends on your injury/diagnosis, your personal recovery rate, and your diligence in doing your homework (ie home exercises, medications, therapies).

3.  How much will it cost?
     Will you bill my insurance?
Will my insurance cover your services?

Answer:  Plateau Physical Therapy maintains first quality treatment at competitive rates. Once we have determined your treatment regimen and have consulted with you, we will be glad to discuss cost of treatment and payment methods.

Most insurance companies pay all or part of physical therapy needs. We will contact your insurance company at your first visit to verify coverage.

8.  How should I dress for therapy?

Answer: Comfortable clothing! If you are receiving lower extremity treatments, we encourage shorts. You are welcome to bring a change of clothing.

9. Which treatments will I receive?

Answer: After a careful evaluation, the therapist will create a customized treatment plan for you, depending on exactly what your problem is.

10. How do I make an appointment?

Answer: Call us at 931-456-1818 or come by our office. Our friendly office staff will schedule your appointment at the earliest most convenient time possible, often on the same day. Follow-up visits can be scheduled in advance when you come in for your initial evaluation.

11. How do I cancel an appointment?

Answer: Please call us as soon as you realize that you won't make your scheduled appointment. We prefer to reschedule your appointment for a different time on the same day, if there is an available time slot. This will keep you on track with your therapy regimen.
